Studying two intersections in West Philadelphia - 40th and Walnut Street, and 40th and Lancaster Avenue -- we talked with owners at small local businesses and chain businesses about how they see their role in the community. These conversations revealed some of the tensions that exist between chain and local businesses along this linear mile.
